Cape Lookout State Park, Oregon

Yippi! We made it to the Pacific Ocean! We are camping at Cape Lookout State Park, a beautiful spot with an ocean view in a dense forest--absolutely beautiful!

Got our things unpacked (not a small feat )! Tent set up twice (Jack wanted to move it), made dinner on an open camp fire, took showers for the first time since leaving home...Oh life is good!!

Backing up... our morning began with the sun rising over the Columbia River.....when we arrived in Portland my cousin (we decided we are second cousins) Bob and his wife Val picked us up. We hadn't seen each other since we were kids - at least 40 years ago!  Just another bonus to our trip! We had a delightful lunch together and ride to the beach.  We're hoping they can us to bike on Saturday when we ride along the Columbia River Gorge.

Jack is already asleep in the tent, and now it started to rain!! Oh well it is Portland and that's what it does here!!  I am soooooo ready to start pedaling in the morning.......Hoping that I can sleep :-)
