"It's not so much the journey that's important: as is the way that we treat those we encounter and those around us, along the way." ~ Jeremy Aldana

Fun day!  Got soaked!  We were only on the bike for 1/2 a day!

While taking a brief stop during our ride, an older man (grandpa type :) asked us about our trip.  He offered a ride, wanted to give us some maps, and asked if we needed any lunch money -- so very cute!!

John joined us again for a few days!  As our "support" vehicle found us, we hurriedly took off our bike bags and just loved pedaling without the extra 40 pounds!  The three of us then road the roller coasters at Cedar Point Amusement Park!!  After descending the Rockies, the Millennium Force was a piece of cake!!!

Taking a break from riding for a fun afternoon at the amusement park

Soaked from the water rides!

  1. I'm a little confused. How did you get across Indiana so quickly and what route did you take to get to Sandusky, OH and Cedar Point? It's around 256 miles between Valparaiso and Sandusky. That's a lot of miles to have cycled in a couple of days since you had left Valparaiso July 20th.

I was hoping to get across the Mississippi River at Hickman, KY but the ferry was closed because the River was too low so now I'm going to try and get across the River either by US 62 bridge at Cairo, IL or ride up to Cape Girardeau, MO.

You're going to enjoy the GAP Trail in PA and MD. I rode it twice. Your trip along the Montour Trail might not be as enjoyable because of the gaps in the trail. The trail isn't complete between Henderson and Glassport. It's also a little confusing on the roads between Glassport and McKeesport where you can get on the GAP.
